Fireworks moved to Fort Harker Days
KANOPOLIS -- Ellsworth's annual fireworks celebration, postponed June 28 because of saturated fields, will be July 12 in Kanopolis in conjunction with Fort Harker Days.
Events in Kanopolis kick off with a 4-mile run and 2-mile walk at 8 a.m., to be followed at 10 a.m. with a parade, car show, turtle races, Moonwalk, food, entertainment, volleyball tournament and more.
A 9:20 p.m. salute to military men and women of Ellsworth County will be followed at 10 p.m. by a fireworks display at the Kanopolis Middle School football field. Spectators may use the stadium bleachers or bring their own lawn chairs.
A free dance is planned from 9 p.m. to midnight.
